Dear Labdoo user,

Google informed that on September 14th, 2021, a 2 steps authorization will become mandatory for connecting to Google services.

Since Google is hosting many of our cloud services (e.g., email, AdWords, Analytics, Drive, etc.), we need to be aware of this upcoming change. For instance, all our emails ending with @labdoo.org are hosted by Google.

You might already have gotten this information from Google. If not, you can read more about the upcoming change here:

EN: https://www.google.com/intl/en/landing/2step/

ES: https://www.google.com/intl/es/landing/2step/

DE: https://www.google.com/intl/de/landing/2step/

To accommodate for this change, please follow the instructions and settings for each of your Google accounts. You are only able to change the settings for the account you are logged-in at that moment.

You are able to activate the 2-steps from now on manually, but on 14.09.2021 Google will activate it automatically.

As long as you are only using Google apps (e.g. the Gmail app on your phone, the browser based Gmail app, etc.) Google can manage and re-open access to these devices after you follow the instructions to set up the 2-steps security process.

But if you are using  other software packages such as Outlook for emails or a 3rd party calendar tool, you will need to activate those apps and devices with a specific app password.

Using app passwords, you can use apps to sign in to your Google Account on devices that do not support two-step verification. You only have to generate and enter the password once, so you won’t need to remember it.

Google started this mandatory modification to make work and data more secure. So this update is a positive development for all of us and we appreciate everyone’s collaboration.

Thank you!
